Women In Coffee

Women In Coffee (WIC) is the charity project conceived by Caffè Vergnano to support concrete social sustainability initiatives for women to which we want to make a contribution.

"Women In Coffee is our sustainable dream: a fundraising project that supports small communities of women working on coffee plantations" Carolina Vergnano.

The idea was born in 2018 in front of data released by the International Coffee Organisation. In the coffee chain, the female role is central: 25% of coffee farms are run by women, 70% of the work on the plantation is theirs. Yet women remain on the margins of society, they have difficulty accessing education, credit and trade. Every year Women In Coffee promotes a new initiative aimed at improving working conditions and providing opportunities for cultural and social growth.

The Caffè Vergnano Pink Collection is dedicated to supporting Women in Coffee projects.

Starting from 1st March, the entire proceeds from the sale of the Pink Collection will be donated by Caffè Vergnano to the Italian Red Cross, which is directly involved in helping women, the elderly and children affected by the war in Ukraine.
