The roofing of the Langhe's houses, was once made with stones "Ciapele" calls, such as thin crumbly biscuits, dried, made with cornmeal coarsely stone-ground.
From his family's pastry shop in a small town near Alba, with a passion for sweets inherited from his father, Stefano Barroero decided to move with his wife to Cortemilia, in the hills of the Langhe, and start cultivating IGP Piedmont Hazelnuts, the main ingredient of many typical specialties of his land. With a raw material of absolute quality, lots of passion and skill, Cascina Barroero offers sweet and savory delicacies.
