The Kazzen Company handcrafts and enhances the typical products of Pantelleria by following island traditions. The Caper, the gold of Pantelleria, is harvested by hand from May to September: the farmer returns to the plant every 10 days to pick the floral buttons that have not yet bloomed. The Pantelleria Caper is distinguished by its particular aromaticity and sweetness, preserved by special processing with sea salt. Once left to soak briefly and rinsed carefully, the capers are ready to lend their flavor to many recipes for pasta sauces, meat and fish main courses, and fresh vegetables. Excellent on pizzas and flatbreads.

The Kazzen company was founded in Pantelleria in 2004, almost as a game: the D' Ancona brothers built a workshop on the family land and in their spare time devoted themselves to handcrafting and preserving the island's typical caper. In 2005 their Pesto Pantesco won the Taste Award at Expo Dei Sapori. Their enthusiasm drives them to offer many other specialties, prepared according to traditional recipes, with carefully selected materials and careful processing. Awarded several prizes for its fine Passito di Pantelleria, even today the company is still a small, valuable artisan business that passionately promotes Pantelleria's extraordinary products around the world.
