The Nocino is a liqueur obtained from the infusion of walnut shells harvested in June, when they are still green, on the night of St. John's Day: This is the traditional recipe written down in the 18th century by the Modenese notary Pellegrino Grappi. The recipe is also followed by La Dispensa di Amerigo for its Nocino, which is ready for consumption after three years of aging in wooden barrels that perfect the taste. Nocino is an excellent digestif, served well chilled at the end of a meal. Try it with cream ice cream. Alcohol 40%.
