The Manna is the sap of some varieties of ash tree extracted by carving its bark. It is a traditional food product (PAT), typical of Sicily, which became its main producer in the second half of the 1800s. Nowadays this ancient cultivation, linked to the figure of "Ntaccaluòru," the engraver, survives only in the Pollina and Castelbuono areas. Manna is a Slow Food Presidium with production regulations guaranteeing its quality and origin. Oro di Manna Fiasconaro transforms this precious ingredient, naturally sweet and rich in beneficial properties, into a soft and delicious cream, to be tried on a slice of toast, to make delicious recipes such as muffins or as an accompaniment to panettone.
Fiasconaro is a family story that began in the 1950s in Castelbuono, Sicily, when Mario Fiasconaro transformed a small ice cream shop into a thriving business in the field of Italian confectionery. With the generational change, his three sons Fausto, Martino and Nicola, overwhelmed by their father's passion, made a quantum leap and transformed Fiasconaro into a reality recognized beyond the island's borders. The turning point came with Nicola, a talented pastry chef, who revisited the classic northern Italian panettone in a Mediterranean key. Fiasconaro focuses on the enhancement of typical Sicilian production, from oranges to pistachios, from Modica chocolate to apricots, and from almonds to the prized manna of the Madonie Mountains: with these extraordinary ingredients he makes exquisite, award-winning specialties
